Our growing startup culture here in the Old Pueblo welcomes another person with experience as an entrepreneur - Andrew Barton. He’ll be talking about how his initial startup turned into the current incarnation, eBlox. If you are active in local user groups (like the JUG), you will likely know Mr. Barton. He’ll cover how he became entrepreneur, compare our current downturn with the 2000 Tech Bust, and offer some valuable lessons learned.

Well, it is a simple concept: startup culture in cities around the world gathers around a bar to have a pint and discuss what they are working on, what they need help with and what they can do for each other.
The Tucson version of this group meets on the last Tuesday of every month (generally, this is a special meeting, and we will do another at the end of August most likely).

Ok, so we missed February (meh). So, we’re going to promote March a little better.
Next meeting is again the last Tuesday of the month at 1702 on Speedway (directions below). I plan on demoing my app (and should have my new site launched by then as well) and hopefully we can convince Evan to show up and show off his first iPhone app 12 Strikes!

Hi all, Warner here, since we can’t figure out how to add users I’m borrowing the login so that I can post my thoughts on startups and other things around startups. First I want to thank everyone who has helped me so far, being part of this group has given me a lot of new ideas and directions to get my startup (and projects going). In this vein I would like to share a couple of things for those you struggling to start out the New Year with a bang (and not a whimper :P).
- AutoFocus - this is a time/task management technique that I got from Evan via his Twitter feed. (Thanks Evan!)
- 30 days goals - This is an interesting concept, rather than put together really long-term goals just come up with something you can commit to completing in 30 days and see how you do.
